EMC Boasts Double-Digit Revenue Growth
By Jeff Feinman

July 23, 2008 — EMC is reporting its 20th consecutive quarter of double-digit, year-over-year revenue growth.

EMC’s total revenue for the second quarter of 2008 was US$3.67 billion, an increase of 18 percent over the $3.12 billion in the same quarter a year earlier, the company said today. GAAP net income was $377.5 million, or $0.18 per diluted share. Non-GAAP net income for the second quarter was $511.7 million or $0.24 per diluted share, a 20 percent increase from the same quarter a year prior.

Revenue from the United States increased 10 percent from the previous year, while revenue from outside the United States grew 27 percent year over year. Non-U.S. revenue represented 48 percent of total second quarter revenue, which the company said is a record for that category.

The company said it expects to have revenues that exceed $15 billion for 2008.
