April 15, 2008 — The strategy will:

• Provide guidelines for every decision related to corporate data managed by IT. Specify what data will be in the remote office, and what will not, according to business needs.

• Spell out how remote office data will be collected, managed, searched, archived and disposed. Specify data types, quality, visibility, accessibility, interoperability, metadata, performance, distribution, ownership, security, privacy, categorization, integration and governance.

• Conform to overall IT and business strategy, taking a long-range perspective, typically five years.
