Telect Flips Switch on New Fuse Panels
By
Jeff Feinman
April 14, 2008 —
Telect, a company focused on power and connectivity products, has created two new fuse panels to function in data centers.
The fuse panels, released today, have +/-24 VDC (volts of direct current) or +/-48 VDC operating voltage, and a dual-feed 20/20-position panel, along with a 10/10-position front access panel. The 20/20-position panel provides a total of 20 fuse positions per input bus in one rack unit of vertical rack space, approximately 1.75 inches tall.
The panel is equipped with bay alarms to connect to components located in the product’s bay. It also helps data centers comply with Network Equipment-Building System Level 3 standards, which are a set of specifications involving fire suppression, thermal margin testing, vibration resistance and airflow patterns.
